Safe Digging Starts Here!
Avoid a costly and potentially dangerous situation; call MISS DIG before you do any kind of digging, whether it is for a new tree in your yard or excavation for a new building or structure. Most natural gas lines and many other utilities are buried underground with no way for the average do-it-yourselfer to identify the location.
A valid and current Miss Dig ticket must be present on all job sites and can be paper or an electronic ticket.
Be sure to call MISS DIG at 811 or 1-800-482-7171 at least three business days prior to digging holes or excavating for any reason. Experts will be sent out to mark underground utility lines to protect you from dangerous mistakes, and since there is no cost for this service, there’s really no reason not to. So remember, next time that you plan to dig on your property call MISS DIG to locate underground utility lines.
Not only is it a good idea, it’s the law.
